VISIT SIERRA COUNTY!

Where do you go when you want to unplug, unwind, and decompress...and what do you do once you get there?

Does a day-long fishing excursion sound fun? How about a round of golf followed by a massage or a soak in a hot mineral bath?

Maybe you're a history buff who enjoys exploring museums or old mining towns - or maybe you've got your eye on the future, and want to learn more about the world's first commercial spaceport - Spaceport America - which is being built right here in Sierra County.

Then again - maybe your idea of a perfect vacation is to to check into your room (or park your RV) and do nothing at all.

All of these things are possible in Sierra County New Mexico - which includes the cities of Elephant Butte and Truth or Consequences, the Village of Williamsburg, and smaller communities including Chloride, Winston, Monticello, Kingston, Hillsboro, Lake Valley, and Caballo.

We've got deserts and mountains - an astoundingly diverse terrain in a moderate climate - with altitudes ranging from 4100 to 6200 feet above sea level.

The birding here is some of the best in the state; our mountains and lakes are popular summer spots, while winters are perfect for exploring the hot springs and the desert.

One terrific way to experience the diversity of our county is to travel the Geronimo Trail Scenic Byway. Numerous other Day Trips can be taken in and around our county - grab a map, gas up, and hit the road!
