Ted Turner Reserves and Spaceport America have Developed an Exclusive, Behind-the-scenes, Immersive Tour of the Iconic Commercial Spaceport in New Mexico

PRNEWSWIRE – Spaceport America, New Mexico and Atlanta, Georgia – January 14, 2016 – Spaceport America, the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport and Ted Turner Reserves, provider of individually crafted eco-conscious journeys to Ted Turner-owned properties, have partnered to offer the new Spaceport America Immersion Excursion.

Ted Turner Reserves in New Mexico offers unique adventures tailored to deliver insightful and exhilarating experiences at four locales: Turner’s Ladder, Armendaris and Vermejo ranches and Sierra Grande. Each well-appointed property reflects its surrounding geography and its area’s rich history. The close proximity of Spaceport America to Sierra Grande (a hotel with hot springs and full spa) and the Armendaris and Ladder ranches presents a serendipitous opportunity for this exclusive partnership.

The Spaceport America Immersion Excursion is a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport. For a one-of-a-kind experience, guests can opt to land their private aircraft at 9NM9 spaceway 16-34, Spaceport America’s two-mile-long spaceway designed to accommodate all types of space and air vehicles known to humankind.

Alternatively, expert Turner Reserves adventure guides can arrange for helicopter transport or drive guests to the Spaceport America destination.

Once on site, Spaceport America crew members welcome guests providing them with exclusive access to the inner workings of a commercial spaceport. Guests have the opportunity to interact with Spaceport America aerospace and site operations crew members as they tour the futuristic horizontal launch area within the 18,000-acre campus.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Ted Turner Expeditions and the opportunity to expand our invitation to space and welcome more guests,” said Spaceport America CEO Christine Anderson. “By offering an immersive look at the inner workings of a real live commercial spaceport, we hope our guests will depart inspired about the dynamic commercial space industry.”

“We are thrilled to partner with our friends at Spaceport America to offer our Ted Turner Expeditions guests in New Mexico this exclusive opportunity to virtually explore space,” said Ted Turner, founder of Ted Turner Expeditions. “The Immersion Excursion tour is a natural and exciting add-on for our guests who visit this beautiful part of the Southwest to escape and indulge their curiosity about the natural world.”
