2019 Thanksgiving Dinner Feasts

Thanksgiving dinner in Sierra County New Mexico

What draws so many people to Truth or Consequences and Sierra County during the Thanksgiving holiday? Is it hot springs? The spectacular November weather? Grandmother’s house? Maybe all of the above. No matter what brings you here, you are unlikely to go hungry, because Thanksgiving dinners are in abundance in 2019.

Here’s the list, subject to revisions up to the last minute, ordered by earliest start time. Reservations for large groups are always recommended.

Denny’s has a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on their menu year-round. Probably they serve more of them during the holidays, but who knows? They recommend reservations on 11/28 if your group is larger than 10 people. Hours: 24/7/365

Johnny B’s, which opens at 6am, will add a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to their menu starting at 11am. Hours: 11am-8pm

Sierra del Rio at Turtleback Mountain Resort is offering a Thanksgiving Buffet in the Clubhouse next to the Brassie Bar (mimosas! margaritas?). Hours: 11am-3pm

Chloride Bank Cafe, newly reopened under the management of Chef Don Reis and his sidekick Belinda, will serve their regular menu, at the very least. This menu includes an Beyond Burger, the first we’ve heard of in the county — fellow vegetarians we are lookin’ at you with excitement in our eyes. Hours: 11am-6pm

Latitude 33 will offer their regular menu (fantastic Asian Fusion) or an organic turkey dinner. Reservations are required for groups of 5 or more. Hours: 11:30am-3:30pm

The Restaurant at Sierra Grande will have two seatings for their Thanksgiving buffet. Sierra Grande is a hotel, and therefore may be at capacity, and therefore we’d reserve — regardless of party size — if we were you. Hours: 12-3pm, 4-7pm

Truth or Consequences Brewing Co., which has become the heartbeat of downtown T or C since opening in the summer of 2017, is hosting their Thanksgiving Potluck from 4-6pm. They’re providing turkey and gravy; you provide a dish to share and a $5 donation, which goes to Matthew 25, the local food bank. That the beer is delicious, locally brewed and readily available goes without saying. Hours: 4-6pm

Anyone looking for a stiff drink (and/or a steak dinner) after so much celebrating can find it at Los Arcos — they will be open regular hours on Thanksgiving. Hours: 5-9:30pm

You may also want to express gratitude for your life, your health, and whatever mobility you possess at Patty’s Gentle Yoga Class. It’s a beginner level course geared toward people 50 years or older, but anyone can join this special holiday class. All movements are adaptable to various skill levels. It will be held at Studio de la Luz from 5:30-6:30pm.
