The Starry Night Residency Program is open to visual artists working in any medium, as well as writers and researchers. Located just inside the western boundary of TorCs‘ Historic Hot Springs District, the retreat welcomes “self-directed artists” year-round to apply for residencies of varying length, with the intent of creating new work “in the quiet, rustic environment of southern New Mexico.”
This retreat is held annually in January and February at the Dam Site Historic District. Artists are provided private lodging in a historic casita within walking distance of Elephant Butte Lake. Prices include lodging, linens and towels, and cleaning services. See the website for more information.
This historic B&B on the edge of the Gila Wilderness is open year-round to lodgers, and offers occasional workshops and retreats for artists, musicians and natural builders. The lodge can be booked for an artist retreat or other group getaway (maximum capacity: 25). Watch SierraCountyEvents.com or contact Catherine for more information on upcoming events and creative opportunities.
