Open to 4WD vehicle operators of any experience level. Drive trails in a supervised, nationally recognized, 4-wheeling event.

Cars from all over the state on the spacious and beautiful grounds of the State Veterans Home.

Events at the Hillsboro Community Center include a silent auction, vendors, and the $49.99 sale.

Annually: the night before Elephant Butte's Luminaria Beachwalk
Tree lighting, bonfires, parade of lights, and holiday refreshments at downtown businesses.
December 11, 2021
Annually: 2nd Saturday in December
A beach lit with thousands of luminarias, campfires serving posole and cocoa, and a lighted boat parade.
February 25-26, 2022
Annually: last Friday & Saturday in February (pending venue availability)
Beautiful work by local quilters; demonstrations, vendors, and quilt appraisals.

One day only, 4 person scramble, beginners to advanced players welcome.

Held annually since 1950, this celebration includes a parade, contests, roping contest, and music.

Annually: middle weekend in May
This catch-photo-release tournament is open to anglers in any kind of water craft that isn’t gas-powered — canoes, kayaks, rowboats, etc. Electric-powered watercraft is allowed.
