October 6-10, 2021
Annually: the weekend after Southern NM State Fair
Fair exhibits are normally open to the general public Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
October 13-16, 2021
Annually: starts on the Wednesday after Columbus Day
Open to 4WD vehicle operators of any experience level. Drive trails in a supervised, nationally recognized, 4-wheeling event.
October 15-17, 2021
A parade, live music, vendors, beer garden, chile cooking contest, baking contest, and more!
December 4, 2021
Annually: the first Saturday in December
Events at the Hillsboro Community Center include a silent auction, vendors, and the $49.99 sale.
December 10, 2021
Annually: the night before Elephant Butte's Luminaria Beachwalk
Tree lighting, bonfires, parade of lights, and holiday refreshments at downtown businesses.
December 11, 2021
Annually: 2nd Saturday in December
A beach lit with thousands of luminarias, campfires serving posole and cocoa, and a lighted boat parade.
February 25-26, 2022
Annually: last Friday & Saturday in February (pending venue availability)
Beautiful work by local quilters; demonstrations, vendors, and quilt appraisals.
April 30, 2022
One day only, 4 person scramble, beginners to advanced players welcome.
May 5-7 2022 (tentative)
Annually: first weekend in May
Held annually since 1950, this celebration includes a parade, contests, roping contest, and music.
May 20-22, 2022
Annually: middle weekend in May
This catch-photo-release tournament is open to anglers in any kind of water craft that isn’t gas-powered — canoes, kayaks, rowboats, etc. Electric-powered watercraft is allowed.
July 2, 2022
Annually: Saturday night of July 4 holiday weekend
The biggest fireworks show in New Mexico reflected on the waters of the state’s largest body of water.
August 12-14, 2022 (tentative)
Events begin bright and early, starting with mass ascensions every day of the event.
September 9-11, 2022
Annually: 2nd weekend in September
A regional music festival featuring Americana music at an outdoor pavilion in historic Kingston.
November 5, 2022
Annually: the Saturday before Veterans’ Day
Cars from all over the state on the spacious and beautiful grounds of the State Veterans Home.
