Annually: the weekend after Southern NM State Fair
Fair exhibits are normally open to the general public Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. In 2020 spectators will not be allowed pending state COVID-related restrictions.

Annually: starts on the Wednesday after Columbus Day
Open to 4WD vehicle operators of any experience level. Drive trails in a supervised, nationally recognized, 4-wheeling event.

Cars from all over the state on the spacious and beautiful grounds of the State Veterans Home.

Events at the Hillsboro Community Center include a silent auction, vendors, and the $49.99 sale.

Annually: the night before Elephant Butte's Luminaria Beachwalk
Tree lighting, bonfires, parade of lights, and holiday refreshments at downtown businesses.

Annually: 2nd Saturday in December
A beach lit with thousands of luminarias, campfires serving posole and cocoa, and a lighted boat parade.

Beautiful work by local quilters; demonstrations, vendors, and quilt appraisals.

This fishing tournament unites volunteers who love to fish with disabled and disadvantaged children for a day of fishing in the outdoors.

Held annually since 1950, this celebration includes a parade, contests, rodeo, and music.

This catch-photo-release tournament is open to anglers in any kind of water craft that isn’t gas-powered, be it canoe, kayak, rowboat, or etc.

Annually: Father's Day Weekend
A tournament for K-12 youths, with awards, prizes and a cookout. Hosted by the Elephant Butte Bass Anglers.

The biggest fireworks show in New Mexico reflected on the waters of the state’s largest body of water.
