HORSEBACK RIDING / TRAIL RIDING

Climb Aboard a Horse, You're in Cowboy Country!

Sierra County is by and large a ranching community. For many locals, rodeos, roping competitions and gymkhanas (a.k.a. omoksees, a.k.a. rodeos for kids) are a regular part of life. See SierraCountyEvents.com for more info on these kinds of activities, which are generally held spring through fall at arenas around the county.

If you plan to spend time exploring out great outdoors, why not see at least part of Sierra County from atop a trusty steed? Call one of the riding stables below for information.

A more immersive type of riding experience is offered at the Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch. The Ranch is located west of the Sierra County Line near Wall Lake, in the Gila Wilderness (map). They are your best bet if you want to do do a lot of riding.
