annually: the second Elephant Butte Lake State Park Thousands of luminarias line paths on the beach that lead to bonfires sponsored by local groups. Grab a complimentary holiday treat and join in the caroling, hop on the hay ride, or visit with Santa Claus. The Elephant Butte Rotary Club takes donations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation on NM at their campsite. The Luminaria Walk, sponsored by the Elephant Butte Chamber of Commerce, starts at dusk. The Floating Lights Parade begins at 6:30pm, with a special Grand Marshall each year. An awards ceremony and Christmas party follows at the Elephant Butte Inn. |
