Thousands of luminarias line paths
on the beach that lead to bonfires with cocoa, posole, cider, and
caroling. Santa Claus will be there, along with a live Nativity scene, hay rides, and caroling.
The Floating Lights Parade begins at 6:30 pm, and invites boat owners, campers and homeowners to decorate their vessels, RVs and houses for the holidays! The Grand Marshall for the 2008 Floating Lights Parade is
KRQE-TV's meteorologist Mike Hernandez, who (along with his wife) will
also judge the competition and present awards.
Fireworks will be
provided by
Turtleback Mountain Resort. The awards ceremony/community
Christmas party follows at 9:30pm at
Elephant Butte Inn, 401
Highway 195.
The event is free with park entrance fee.
The Beachwalk is sponsored by the Rotary Club and proceeds
