SIERRA COUNTY RV PARKS

Extras:  We're 1.25 miles from Lake Caballo, on the east (lake) side of Highway 187. We have a large barbecue in the cabana; all sites have a picnic table. We have wireless internet in our office and two wheelchair-accessible restrooms with showers. We can accommodate rigs up to 46 feet. We have mining claims in Copper Flats for dry washing, metal detecting and rock hounding, and RV and boat storage on-site for your convenience.

Directions: From I-25, take exit 59 (Caballo). Go 1 mile south on Hwy 187; the park is at mile marker 119.

Extras: We're located on the east (lake) side of Highway 187, with beautiful lake and mountain views. Our park has a game area, activities, happy hour, guided tours, gold panning, covered patio, clubhouse, and picnic tables. Caballo Lake is within walking distance. You may borrow our telephone if you use your own phone card. We welcome pets, but ask that you keep them on a leash and clean up after them.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 59 (Caballo) and go north on Highway 187 for 1.8 miles, to mile marker 22.

Extras: The Caballo Mountains serve as a majestic backdrop for the lake and park. Guests can enjoy a full array of water recreation, winter waterfowl watching, and cactus gardens in bloom. For a pdf of a map showing locations of campsites and amenities, click here.

Directions:The park is located 16 miles south of Truth or Consequences. From I-25, take exit 59 (Caballo) and follow the signs to the park.

Extras: Our adults-only park has a view of Caballo Lake, which is within walking distance, and of the Caballo Mountains beyond the lake.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 59 (Caballo); turn right and go one mile on Highway 187. The park is on the west side of 187. Look for the sign out front.

Extras: We have a convenience store on-site that sells groceries, propane, gasoline and diesel. The park has views of Caballo Lake and mountains and is just minutes from scenic Hillsboro, Truth or Consequences, and Elephant Butte. All sites have 30/50. 12 of our sites have phone hookup capability. We have 4 sites for tent campers. Pets must be leashed and picked up after.

Directions: From I-25, take exit 63 (Hillsboro/Silver City) and turn east; we're at the Highway 187 intersection.

Extras: We have a convenience store on-site offering tackle, live bait, fishing & hunting licenses, and NM lotto tickets. Groceries are conveniently sized for campers and locals alike. We also offer notary and fax service, a mail drop, an ATM, & movie rentals (DVD & VHS). Our friendly park has a great view of Caballo Lake & mountains and a small playground for the kids.

Directions: If coming from the north on I-25, take exit 63 (Hillsboro/Silver City); turn left onto Highway 187 and go 1 mile to the park, which is on your right, next to the convenience store (look for the boat sticking out of the side of the building). If coming from the south on I-25, exit 59 (Caballo) and turn right onto Highway 187; the convenience store and park are 2.25 miles further, on your left.

Directions:The park is 21 miles south of Truth or Consequences. From I-25, take exit 59 (Caballo) and follow the signs to Percha Dam State Park.

Extras: We have many shade trees with a nice view of the Caballos and Caballo Lake, as well as a guest area with a hot tub, air hockey table, dart board, and a modem. Wireless is free for our guests. Sites are telephone-ready, but it's up to tenants to arrange service. Our sites can accommodate rigs up to 34 feet.

Directions: If coming from the north on I-25, take exit 63 (Hillsboro/Silver City) and turn south onto Highway 187. The park is at mile marker 22.5, on your right. If coming from the south on I-25, take exit 59 (Caballo) and turn north on Highway 187. The park is at mile marker 22.5, on your left.

Extras: We're located miles from the hustle and bustle of town life, in the living ghost town of Chloride (home to The Pioneer Store Museum, the Monte Cristo Gift Shop & Gallery, and other historic points of interest). Once you arrive you won't be able get a cell phone signal, but there's a payphone at the Winston General Store if you need to make a call. Summer campers will enjoy our cool temperatures. Since we're next to the Gila National Forest, the park makes a great home base for hikers, campers, and owners of ATVs, jeeps and the like. Pets are welcome but must be leashed. The park can accommodate rigs up to 40' long.

Directions:  Chloride is approximately 40 scenic miles west of Truth or Consequences. If northbound on I-25, take Exit 83. Turn left on NM 181, then left on NM 52. Follow signs to Winston, then turn left to Chloride, two miles south west of Winston on all-weather hard surface road.  If southbound on I-25, take Exit 89. Turn left on NM 181, then right on NM 52 and follow directions as above.

Extras: Our park is undergoing many changes! We have a swimming pool and are addinig a hot tub and new park area in 2010. Wireless internet and television (with cable and satellite) are available in the clubhouse. There are no phone hookups available at the sites, but you can borrow our telephone. We're the only privately-owned RV Park with a view of the lake in Elephant Butte.

Directions: We're located 1 mile east of I-25 on Highway 195. Take exit 83 and look for the sign.

Extras:  Our brand new clubhouse offers a lounge area with TV, a full-service kitchen with range, refrigerator, microwave & coffeemaker, and a covered patio with grill and picnic tables. Our fully-equipped laundry has 4 washers and 4 dryers. Wireless internet is available thru Tengo Internet, which offers pricing plans by the day, week, month, 3 months, 6 months, and year. All sites are have 50 amp; a few have 30 amp. Some sites are wired for telephones, but service must be arranged with the phone company. A phone is also available in the clubhouse. We offer storage for your boats, vehicles, and RVs.

Directions: From I-25 northbound, take exit 83 and go straight for 1.5 miles on Highway 195; look for our sign on the right. From I-25 southbound, exit 83 and turn left onto Highway 181; After 1/2 mile, turn left onto Highway 195 and go 1.5 miles. Look for our sign on the right.

Extras: We're the only RV park located within Elephant Butte Lake State Park. We have lots of shade trees and a scenic view of the lake and Ash Canyon; we're conveniently located next to the Dam Site Restaurant, which is open on weekends in the winter, and daily during the summer. Pets are allowed if they're kept on a leash; smaller children will enjoy the playground that's up the hill from the park. Your cell phone may or may not work from our location. We can accommodate rigs up to 40 feet.

Directions:  From I-25 northbound, take exit 75 (Williamsburg) and stay on the business loop through Truth or Consequences until you come to a stoplight (this is the only light in the county). Turn right, or east, at the light; this road becomes Highway 51. Stay on 51; do not turn on Highway 179, which directs you to Elephant Butte Lake State Park. Elephant Butte Dam will be on the left side of the road; after the dam, take the second left at Junction 177, and follow signs to the Dam Site. The park is to the right of the restaurant.
From I-25 southbound, take exit 79 (Truth or Consequences) and stay on the business loop to the stoplight, where you'll turn left (east). Follow directions as above.

Extras: The largest and most popular lake in New Mexico, Elephant Butte Lake and the State Park provide a setting for every imaginable water sport. The visitor center offers regional interpretive exhibits. The mild climate of the area makes this park a popular year-round destination. Some of our sites are very near the water. Directions: From I-25 take exit 83, then follow the signs to the park and Park Headquarters.

Extras: Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort offers 140 full hook-up sites with big rig level sites up to 70 feet. 20, 30, and 50 amp service is available. We have daily, weekly or monthly rates, phone hook-ups for monthly stays, cable TV, covered patio with picnic tables and BBQ grills by the lounge. Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort is wireless internet and modem friendly.

Directions: From the junction of I-25 & Hwy 181 (exit 83), go 0.1 miles on Highway 181 to Highway 195 (follow the signs for Elephant Butte State Park); continue east on 195 for 3.5 miles; turn south on County Club Boulevard. The park is 0.1 miles further, on the right.

Extras: We are a privately-owned park with on-site management, offering free wireless internet; ; 24-hour laundry; sparkling clean restrooms; a clubhouse with TV, games, and covered patio; cable television throughout the park; and a view of the lake. Phone hookups are available for monthly stays; guests arrange service. We can accommodate big rigs up to 45 feet. Restaurants, banks with ATMs, and the Elephant Butte post office are all within walking distance.

Directions: From I-25 southbound, take exit 83, which drops you onto Highway 195. Follow signs for Elephant Butte Lake State Park. Go east 3 miles and turn left onto Hawthorne Road (just past Bank of the Southwest). Go to the first street (Roadrunner Circle) and make another left, then enter the 3rd driveway (Cardinal Court).
From I-25 northbound, take exit 79 onto the Truth or Consequences Business Loop. Go past McDonalds and turn left onto Highway 181; follow signs for the State Park which will lead you onto Highway 171 (a right turn). When you reach the intersection of 171 and 195, you'll be looking at the Bank of the Southwest. To the right of bank is Hawthorn Drive; turn onto Hawthorn, go one block to Roadrunner Circle and turn left, then enter the 3rd driveway (Cardinal Court).

Extras: Our park is near the lake but sits ten miles north of the City of Elephant Butte, so we're a true get-away spot. All sites are equipped with with 30/50 amp. The park offers a recreation room, laundry, picnic benches, and a convenience store. Guests must observe "quiet time" rule from 10pm-7am. We sell gasoline. Wireless internet is available for $2 per day, and there's a modem in our office that guests can borrow. We're 2 miles down the road from South Monticello Point, which is part of Elephant Butte Lake State Park, and which has a boat ramp. We also offer RV & boat storage on-site. Pet policy - "you pick up as they go."

Directions: From I-25, take exit 89 and continue east 5.5 miles.

Extras: Rio Lago RV Park is a full service RV camping facility located in the center of Elephant Butte, 2 miles from the lakeshore, and close to shopping and restaurants. Two covered patios provide shade. Restrooms and showers are available for RV park tenants; the laundromat, open 6am-10pm daily, serves our guests and the public. Small, well-behaved (and well-cared) for pets are welcome!

Directions:  From I-25, take exit 83 which drops you onto Highway 195. Our park is located on the right (west) side of Highway 195, next to Butte General Store & Marine. We're about 2 miles north of the main entrance to Elephant Butte Lake State Park.

Extras: Our park is located in the historic mining town of Hillsboro. Expect a small town pace and no cell phone signals. Our sites are wired for telephones/DSL; service can be arranged through the phone company.

Directions: From I-25, take exit 63 (Hillsboro/Silver City) and go 13 miles west on Highway 152 to Hillboro. Turn right on the street after the post office; the park is 1 block further north.

Extras: Stay with us and receive a discount on soaks in our hot mineral baths. We offer laundry facilities, showers, restrooms, and picnic tables on-site. Some of our spaces have telephone hookups but service is not provided and must be arranged by the tenant.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 75 (Williamsburg); follow Broadway into Truth or Consequences; turn right on Marr (across from the Fast Stop / before Alco) and the park is at 312 Marr.

Extras: We have a clubhouse on-site. 20 amp and 30 amp hookups are on some sites; all sites have 50 amp. Almost all sites are wired for telephones; arrange service with the local phone company.

Directions: From I-25, exit 79 (Truth or Consequences); turn left on US Highway 181 and go approximately 1.5 miles to the intersection of Hwy 181 and Warm Springs Boulevard. Our park is on the right, at the northeast corner of 181 and Warm Springs.

Extras: We have a clubhouse, laundry facilities, showers, restrooms, outdoor grill, and picnic tables. Telephone hookups are available, or use the phone room for local or toll-free calls. A dial-up modem is also available in the phone room.

Directions:  From I-25 take the Williamsburg exit (75) to Broadway.  The park is located on the left, behind Alco.

Extras:  Our park is wired for cable TV and telephones, but tenants must arrange for service on their own. Pets are limited to one per site and must be leashed.

Directions:  From I-25 take exit 79 (Truth or Consequences); follow Date south to Third Street stop light; turn left at light; travel 2 blocks east; park is on the right.

Extras: We're a very quiet park in Truth or Consequences' historic hot springs district. Laundry and bathrooms with showers are available for tenants. We're located on the same block as the Municipal Swimming Pool, which offers open swims, family swims and lap swims during the summer. Cable television is available for $25 per month. Sites are wired for telephones; tenants must arrange for service.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 75 (Williamsburg); follow Broadway into Truth or Consequences; turn right on Van Patten (as you near downtown); the park is at the corner of Van Patten and Clancy.

Extras: We're located in the hot springs district of T or C. Laundromat and bathrooms are available for our tenants. Cable is free; wiring for phones is in place, but service must be arranged with the phone company.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 75 (Williamsburg) and stay on Broadway which will take you into Truth or Consequences; turn right on Pershing (before the church with the big steeple); the park is at the corner of Pershing and Van Patten.

Extras: Part of our facility is on the Rio Grande. We have an outdoor courtyard and deck, and laundry, restrooms, and showers. We have private and communal outdoor tubs for mineral springs enthusiasts. Pets must be leashed. We have 2 pullthrough sites and 4 sites where big rigs can back in.

Directions:  From I-25 take exit 79 (Truth or Consequences); follow Date 1.5 miles south to Third Street stop light; turn left (east) at light then take your first right (onto Cedar).  Stay on Cedar until it curves to the right and becomes Austin.  You’ll see the river and our park check-in office on your left. The park is across the street.

Extras: Long-term accommodations are adults-only, but overnighters are welcome to bring kids. Telephones hookups are for long-term renters only. Wireless internet is not accessible from all spaces in the park. Only 8-10 of our overnight sites are pull-through. Our trees are young but provide some shade.

Directions: From I-25 exit 75 (Williamsburg), follow Broadway to 2103 S. Broadway, on the left. From I-25 exit 79 (Truth or Consequences), stay on the business loop and go through downtown; 2103 S. Broadway will be on your right.

Extras: This is a quiet, adults-only park. All spaces have recently been updated; each has its own carport. Sites are wired for phone or DSL; arrange service with the telephone company.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 75 (Williamsburg); follow Broadway into Truth or Consequences; turn right on Van Patten (just before you reach downtown); the park is on the right, at the corner of Broadway and Van Patten.

Extras: We're located in T or C's historic hot springs district, just 2 blocks from downtown T or C's shops and restaurants. Small pets are welcome (25 lbs or less). Ten spaces are in the shade with additional space for a car. The park has a coin-op laundry facility and showers. Our manager lives on-site.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 75 (Williamsburg); follow Broadway into Truth or Consequences; turn right on Marr (across from the Fast Stop / before Alco) and the park is at 618 Marr.

Extras: We're a very basic and affordable seniors-only park; tenants must be 55 years of age or older. We do not offer daily or weekly rentals. Hookups for cable TV and electric are available, but tenants must arrange for service.

Directions: From I-25 exit 75 (Williamsburg), follow Broadway to 2335 S. Broadway, on the left. From I-25 exit 79 (Truth or Consequences), stay on the business loop and go through downtown; 2335 S. Broadway will be on your right.

Extras: Longer-term campers who will work at the small animal sanctuary are preferred, but regular and overnight campers are welcome when space is available. See our website for more information on the work-camper program. Well mannered pets are welcome as guests, but the park is adults-only. The small domestic animal sanctuary, which is operated by The Sierra County Humane Society, cares for cats, dogs, rabbits, doves, chickens, peacocks, guinea pigs and the like. There is also a pet cemetery adjacent to the sanctuary. Help at the facility for an average of 30 hours a week and receive your full hook-up site free. Telephone hookups are in place at most sites: service must be arranged by the tenant. Spaces can accommodate rigs 40 ft and over. Our shade trees are young, but provide greenery and some relief in summer. The campground, located in a country setting, has a beautiful view of the Caballo Mountains and the Rio Grande Corridor.

Directions:  From 1-25 exit 75 ( Williamsburg), immediately make a sharp turn South onto HWY 187. The park in on the west side of the highway at mile marker 34, 2 miles south of the 1-25 exit.

Extras:  This "little Oasis on the Rio Grande" is a peaceful, quiet, adults-only park with a two-tiered fishing dock right on the river for fishing or relaxing. There's a clubhouse and laundry on-site. Management must pre-approve any pets; small animals are preferred since we do not provide outdoor kennels. Electric is available but must be prearranged with the city, which usually only takes 2-3 hours. Some (not all) sites can accommodate big rigs.

Directions:  From I-25 take exit 75 (Williamsburg); turn right after the Chevron station on Del Rio; park is located at the end of the block on the right.

Extras: We have a clubhouse and laundry facility on-site. Electricity is included with daily and weekly rates.
